




















Devon M. Sayers is a Award winning journalist, with over 20 year of local and national experience. He is deeply focused on ethics, compelling story telling, and the effective use of resources.
Currently a Senior Field Producer for CNN, Devon has covered stories across the U.S., and internationally on occasion, chronicling stories of tragedy and hope. These field assignments include:
Devon has also been deployed as a site manager for trials and special event coverage for the network.
Between deployments he fills in as beat leader for the Aviation Unit, and Southeast editor. He previously was a regional and DC slot assignment editor for CNN.
Prior to CNN Devon was assignment and planning editor at KOAT in Albuquerque, NM.
In 2026 Devon was named RIAS Berlin Commission fellow.
He has been nationally recognized with three Peabody Awards, three National Edward R. Murrow Awards, SPJ Sigma Delta Chi Award for Investigative Reporting, and six National Emmy nominations. His work has been locally recognized with a regional Edward R. Murrow, and New Mexico State Broadcast Association awards for breaking news, newscast, feature news & station of the year.
Devon is a graduate of the NPPA News Video Workshop, and has attended a number of RTNDA, Poynter, IRE, IJA and local press clubs training sessions. He holds a perfect pint certification from the Guinness Academy at St. Jame's Gate, Ireland, and a FAA Part 107 drone license. He also is a graduate of Adult Space Academy at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL - and yep that is a thing, and it is just as nerdy cool as you think it would be. Additionally he has specialized training in hostile environments.
Devon proudly grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and is now based in Atlanta.
